Johan Lamprecht started his career as an economist and country risk analyst at First National Bank. After transferring to Rand Merchant Bank, he was part of an emerging market bond portfolio team, with specific focus on the EMEA region. From 2008 until 2010, Johan was a senior advisor at Africana Finance and Investment (AFI), working on funding mandates and doing analysis for clients from Rwanda, Botswana and Nigeria.
Johan has been with National Treasury since 2010, working on personal income, small business, financial sector and international tax policy.
Johan Lamprecht holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Pretoria and an Advanced Diploma in Transfer Pricing from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He is currently studying towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.
