His Excellency Ambassador Han Peters started off his career as a Third Secretary at the Kuwait’s Royal Netherlands Embassy from 1985 to 1986. His career as a civil servant continued to grow, occupying various senior positions and became the Director of Consular Affairs and Migration Policy Department at The Hague.
His Excellency’s ambassadorship roles began in Afghanistan from 2012-2014. From 2014-2018 he was deployed as the Dutch Ambassador to Brazil. He is the current Dutch Ambassador to South Africa, a role he has occupied since August 2018.
His Excellency Ambassador Peters holds a Master of Arts degree in Social and Economic History from the University Nijmegen (1982). In 2010 he completed a course in Dutch Immigration Law from the University of Leyden.
